Rainy Eight Miler, Push Ups & Action Wipes

Muddy 8!

Thoroughly enjoyable eight miler in the rain earlier today. It was raining when I set out and raining when I finished about an hour later, but luckily it wasn’t cold and the miles flew by. The first mile was a nice easy 7:44, but I was soon splashing through the puddles in the low sevens. Actually the last three miles were all pretty quick and felt so easy – 6:55, 6:52 and 6:48.

So the eight miles took my monthly total to 42 and leaves me just 55 miles to reach 2400 for the year with 10 days remaining. Shouldn’t be a problem to reach the landmark…

Wipes in ActionBefore I move on to today’s push ups, I’d just like to mention a great product I was lucky enough to receive in the mail a couple of days ago courtesy of ActionWipes. Action Wipes are “natural, full body wet wipes for
rinse free bathing” and perfect for use before, during and after a multitude of sports including triathlon, running, football, soccer, golf, swimming, surfing. Actually the possibilities are endless.

The wipes came in very handy after today’s run (see photo above) and allowed me to “wipe down” before getting out of the rain and heading inside. Click here to read more about the wipes and other great products. A big thanks to Martha Van Inwegen for allowing me to try out Action Wipes and provide feedback. If you’re on Twitter, you can follow Martha here.

The naturally antiseptic wipes come in a convenient, resealable pack and are now in my kit bag ready for use after my next race!

Right, onto the Hundred Push Ups. Today was Day 3 of the final week of the program and not an easy workout by any means.

Required: 22 22 30 30 25 25 18 18 at least 55
Actual: 22 22 30 30 25 25 18 18 55

I managed to get through each set but had to take a little extra recovery time towards the end. 245 push ups is quite an impressive total though so can’t complain. I’ll be attempting the hundred on Tuesday. Watch this space to find out how I get on….
