Dean Karnazes: Secrets I Learned Running 50 Marathons in 50 Days

The book’s title “50/50: Secrets I Learned Running 50 Marathons in 50 Days — and How You Too Can Achieve Super Endurance!” is almost as long as one of Dean’s grueling events, but the 304 page offering looks to be a great addition to my running bookcase.

In Fall 2006 Dean set off a remarkable journey to run 50 marathons in 50 states in 50 consecutive days. From the publisher:

Dean set off in a caravan packed with fellow runners, with nothing more than a roadmap and a determination that defied all physical limitations.

50/50 goes beyond the incredible story of these 50 marathons. It is a firsthand, fascinating story of what it’s like to push the limits of strength under grueling conditions — and how Dean Karnazes pulled off the extraordinary.

Sounds like my kind of book! I’ve already read Ultramarathon Man: Confessions of an All-Night Runner and remember having trouble putting it down after getting through the opening chapters. I’m sure this one will be the same.

50/50: Secrets I Learned Running 50 Marathons in 50 Days — and How You Too Can Achieve Super Endurance!

The good news is, it looks like I’ll be able to pre-order 50/50 with Amazon.com – could be a great birthday gift to myself….

Dean Karnazes what an amazing guy he sure has help inspire thounsands and I am one of them.Dean has done so much and he isn’t outthere just thinking of hisself he is thinking of others and he does so well in helping others.Running the 50/50/50 was a great thing and it was a way to inspire more to get up and get active because you see this guy running 26.2 miles a day for 50 days in a row and not only that he is travling there and that can take a toll on some one but you see him doing so much and you think wow if he can do that I believe I can run atleast 1 and it gets people outthere training for there first marathon or perhaps another marathon or a ultra marathon.I keep in touch with Dean he really gives me a lot of hope that the future can be very bright for me and my running career I am also a ultra runner who goes the distance to benefit othes such as next year I am going to run a ultra run every month of the year to benefit Shriners Hospital for Children and I will do other runs to benefit others as well.I run to help anyone who needs a helping hand no matter who you are I will help.Karnazes his self believes I do more runs to benfit others since I started than anyone perhaps in the world.I need a sponser and in 2010 or 2011 I am going to attempt 200 miles non-stop I am now 28 so someday as long as I stay healthy I believe I could go the distance. But yeas I thank Dean Karnazes for so much he is a great guy who will never let you down I am very thankfull we have been blessed with such a great guy who is willing to do so much good in the world.Thank You and God Bless.
