Spent the last six weeks working through the Hundred Push Ups program for the third time since June. This time around there were no repeat weeks, no skipped workouts and no failures. Don’t get me wrong, the workouts were still challenging and on several days I was hard pushed to complete the max set (pun intended).
Well today was the day for the final test and it went well; very well. I stuck to my usual ritual of breaking up the 100 into manageable blocks of 10, and before I knew it I was at 80. I paused for a second and did 5 more. Paused again and managed 10 more which took the total to 95. After a couple of deep breaths I started up again and confidently breezed past the hundred! I managed a further 8 (could I have done more?) and called it a day at 108 consecutive push ups – my highest total to date. Great feeling and just in time for Christmas as I predicted a few weeks ago.
Nice Job Steve. Haven’t you started thinking about the “Did Two Hundred” badge?
I’m planning on doing the hundred again starting in 2009. That’s my procrastination limit. I know it’ll be tough, but hopefully easier than the 1st time through.
That’s awesome. I did this plan for 8 weeks and only got to 50 some. I’m making my way through again, on week 2.
Good work Steve.
Congrats and Merry Christmas! I’m still working my way slowly up the ladder to the 100 but in a few more weeks hopefully… All the best in 2009 but how do you top 2008 except maybe that sub 2:50?
Well done Steve. I’m going to have to do another round of the 100 pushups in 2009 as well, maybe after Rocky Raccoon. You know, I always get into trouble when I browse your website – you’ve got me doing the “30 day shred” now.
Hey Mark,
Blame my wife for the 30 day shred 🙂 Can’t do any harm though, right?
Love2Run – sub 2:50 would be great, but I’m just going to have fun and see what 2009 brings…
