Another Week. More Walking.

Well, not too much news to report this week. Still restricted to just walking, although I did attempt a few short jogs on the artificial turf at the local Princess Anne Athletic Complex. It felt good to briefly stretch the legs, but I’m definitely not ready for any prolonged running at the moment. Here’s how the week panned out. Don’t think I’ve ever walked so many miles in a 7 day period!

  • Mon – 3.3 miles/2.1 miles (950 ft gain)
  • Tue – 3.4/2.0 miles (1,043 ft gain)
  • Wed – 3.9 miles/2.0 miles (640 ft gain)
  • Thu – 3.9 miles/2.3 miles (710 ft gain)
  • Fri – 4.2 miles/2.7 miles (750 ft gain)
  • Sat – 7.5 miles
  • Sun – 2.55 miles (786 ft gain)/5.51 miles
  • Total – 45.3 miles (4,879 ft gain)

What next?

Just like last week, I’m still hopeful of being able log a run pretty soon, but there needs to be zero pain and/or discomfort before I try. Even a mile will be a huge confidence boost and literal step forward at this point in time. I’m being diligent with the icing and compression during the day, and have added several exercises to assist with range of motion and strengthening the muscles around the knee joint. All good stuff. Here’s to another week of progress!
