Not sure how I missed this the first time around, but a week or so ago I was looking back at photos on Brightroom.com from last year’s Richmond Marathon and noticed an option to order a finisher certificate for the race. In previous years, race organizers have mailed certificates directly to participants several weeks after the event has taken place, but I guess in effort to cut down on expenses, many are now offering the “print-your-own” or order online option.
Anyway, if you ran and completed the race, here’s how to get your FREE (well, I guess it’s included in the entry fee somewhere) Richmond Marathon Finisher Certificate:
- Head over to the Richmond Marathon web site.
- Scroll down and click on the “Past Results” link (it’s near the bottom of the left menu).
- Click on the “Participant photos taken by Brightroom Photography” link under the 2007 section.
- Enter your Bib Number (if you can remember it) or Last Name and click the “Show Photos” button.
- Hopefully your name will be listed under “Here are the entries that match” on the next page. Click your name if it is.
- Now you should be looking at a page containing your photos from the Richmond Marathon. Click on the “Official Finisher Certificate” button above your photos.
- On this page you’re presented with two options – “Free Official Finisher Certificate” and “Official Finisher Certificate with Photo”.
- Not surprisingly, I chose the FREE option and clicked the “Add To Cart” button.
- Don’t worry about the photo on the next page, just check the quantity is 1, the price is $0.00 and click “Check Out”.
- Complete the shipping information, click “Submit Order” and your FREE Official Finisher Certificate will be on it’s way to you!
Mine only took 7 days to arrive from the time I placed my order, and I must admit the quality is excellent. The certificate is printed on Kodak ENDURA Professional paper and is sized at 8″ x 10″. Now I just have to find a suitable frame for it….
Thanks Steve
I had for some reason completely forgotten to do this. You are right in that most cases you just have one automatically sent, but this year you actually have to order it. Will do it right now.
Thanks again,
Bill
Hi Steve,
Sorry for the completely unrelated comment, but I’m tagging you to play along with the six-word memoir meme. The details are here: http://faster-running.com/general-training/six-word-memoir/
I’m looking forward to seeing what you come up with!
