Despite still being in recovery mode, I felt like a slightly quicker run today and thought seven minute mile pace might be a nice pace to aim for. As you can see if you click on the MotionBased map above, my splits were pretty much spot on – 7:00, 7:00, 7:00 and 6:58.
The run was a good one, my legs are feeling very good and it’s been a great post-marathon week in many ways. Tomorrow I’m going to treat myself to a rare day off, but will probably attempt an 8 to 10 miler on Sunday morning before an afternoon Mother’s Day lunch.
Good luck to everyone racing this weekend. Run smart….
Discovered your blog via Charlie’s blog’s comment section…you have so much packed useful information in your blog!! I have subscribed to your “Run Bulldog Run” blog and will be visiting often.
Thanks Bruce! Appreciate the kind words,

I’m glad to hear your recovery is going well. I thought I was doing great until yesterday. Yesterday’s workout sucked! Much slower than anything I’d done in many months. Oh well, I’m hoping to bounce back today. Did you get in a decent run on Mother’s Day?
Hey Jay,
Still taking it easy. My family are in town at the moment, so just keeping things ticking over for now.
I’m sure you’ll bounce back very quickly!

Hi Steve
Glad to see everything is going well with the recovery.. you certainly deserve it after tearing it up on that last marathon. I hope you don’t mind that I am always stalking your blog trying to get better.. I know that I can and will learn a lot from you.
Best of luck and congrats again on 2:51… very, very few people will ever get to know how fast that really is.
Hi Bill,
I don’t mind at all – it’s great! Haven’t had much blogging time since last weekend, but I do read all my comments and appreciate everyone who takes time out of their busy schedules to write a few words.
Hope all is well with you. Are you ready for Bayshore??
–Steve
Hi Steve
Bayshore should be an interesting “race” for me. I feel like I am still lagging a bit since Boston and to be honest I’m a little bit burned out. I really don’t know what to expect and will keep my expectations at a low level for this one. If I can go sub 3 that will be just fine and then I will have until September for the Air Force Marathon in Dayton. I will be ready for that one.
Best of luck with the recovery and your upcoming 10k.
How’s it going Steve?
It’s been 12 days since your last post! We are hungry! 😉
See you at the races,
Charlie
Charlie: Not very much to post about right now, but I did manage my first run in over a week and have just updated the blog. Enjoy….
Bill: Bayshore could turn out to be a great race. You may just surprise yourself!
