Not much to report at the moment as my family are visiting from the UK and I’m enjoying a welcome break from both blogging and running. However, I did manage a hurried four miler this morning which was my first run for over a week. On current form, Saturday’s Elizabeth River Run 10k will be a struggle and therefore I’m not looking for a fast time or a great performance. In fact, the main reason I’m running is to keep my Tidewater Strider Grand Prix streak going – I haven’t missed one since September 2005.
Today’s run was ok, but I could tell I’m out of sorts at the moment. Splits were 7:28, 7:04, 6:34 and 6:13 – not bad considering the lack of running, but a lot of work to do to get back to my fitness of a few weeks ago.
That’s all for now. Thanks for all the comments, emails and general feedback. Normal service will soon return….
Hi Steve
You certainly owe yourself a break after that great result at Frederick… congrats again. Enjoy your time with family as that is what gives our life such great meaning and support.
Good luck with the 10k and congrats on the “streaking”.
Thanks Bill!
The 10k went surprisingly well (will post a mini report soon), and I guess I owe that to whatever marathon fitness I have left in my body.
Family time was fantastic and now I’m refreshed and looking forward to a new challenge.
Hope your marathon recovery goes well,
–Steve
