Game On!

Planned: 30 minute easy run to build endurance.

Actual: 30 minute easy run.

No more talk of a groin pain, no more talk about the weather. Just finished an easy 30 minute run, felt great and am officially ready for Shamrock. Finally, after months of training, it feels like everything has clicked into place – now it’s just up to me to follow through on Sunday with the race outcome I’ve been planning since last November.

Actually, there’s still one thing missing: a four-pack of Samichlaus in case I can pull off a new marathon PR. Guess I’d better visit the local beer and wine store….

  1. Good luck Steve and look forward to reading about it.

Btw, I met one of your twitter buddies at the Seabrook marathon last weekend. Turns out I’d also met him at the Surfside marathon – small world, huh?

  2. Thanks Mark – yeah, another crazy ultra guy. Don’t know how you do it….

I’ve enjoyed reading your recent antics. Make sure you take some time off pretty soon okay? Don’t want you getting burned out, do we?

Also, fingers crossed for the rugby boys against the Irish on Saturday. Think we can do them?

Good luck with the race on Sunday Steve! As a fellow Brit (English) and runner of course, I enjoy reading your blog. I’m doing the National Marathon in DC tomorrow, and hoping to qualify for Boston.

Hope it’s a great weekend for both of us!!

  4. Hi Steve

Best of luck!! Just checked the weather and it looks as though the conditions should be perfect. Hope that wind stays down for you, but hot weather will not be an issue.

    Run well my friend.

  5. Thanks Bill. If the weather forecast is accurate, it’s going to be a perfect day for a marathon. I’ll just need to control the pace for 20 miles and hope there’s plenty left for the final 10k.

    I can’t wait to get going….
