Phase: Marathon
Workout: 40 to 50 minute Easy Run
Purpose: Build Endurance
This afternoon’s run was a pleasant one; temperature in the mid 80’s, fairly low humidity with a nice breeze. My pace was steady and just about made it into the “easy” zone according to Coach McMillan’s pace chart.
For the record:
Distance: 6.3 miles
Time: 47:11
Pace: 7:29 per mile
Speaking of the Richmond Marathon, I still remember the painful second half of last year’s race where things didn’t quite go as planned. I also remember reading the race report of Bill Carter who described his 2007 Richmond as the “Run Of His Life”.
Well, judging by the training Bill’s been putting in over the summer, he’s going to have another fantastic race at the Air Force Marathon later this month. If you’re looking for an inspirational running story, check out Bill’s latest post; it’s a great story and proves that hard work and determination really does pay off. Good luck in Dayton Bill!
You are doing awesome! What’s the goal for Richmond again?
2:50 or faster. Wish me luck…
