Purpose: Build Endurance
1. Today is the 50th day of the McMillan Marathon plan which means 7 weeks down, 13 to go.
2. Today is my birthday and the first run of my 42nd year!
3. Today I’ve adjusted my training paces thanks to my one mile PR on the weekend. My easy runs won’t be as easy, my long runs will be faster and my fartlek runs more intense. It’s all about progression, and I’m ready to step up the intensity for the next level of the program.
Tonight’s run was just an easy run for 50 minutes, but as mentioned above, the pace was slightly quicker than in previous weeks – between 7:01 and 7:31 instead of 7:12 to 7:42. Not a problem though; I was definitely up for it tonight and am looking forward to the rest of the week and the rest of the plan with great excitement…
