Morning Run/Afternoon Swim

Ran a nice easy progressive five miles to start off the day. Didn’t want to do too much with a 5k to run in the morning, so I just kept things controlled and comfortable. Mile splits: 8:09, 7:36, 7:40, 7:21, 7:10.

Breezy Point Triathlon is only 2 weeks away, so I headed to the pool in the afternoon and swam a straight 1000m – not a big deal for the swimmers out there, but this was my first straight 1000m in almost five years! I’m so slow I don’t bother wearing a watch or looking at the clock, but hopefully the recent training and the uninterrupted 1000 will be enough for me to get through the swim leg of the upcoming tri.
