Morning Six Miler

The weather forecast for Friday wasn’t great for later in the day when I’d typically run, so I decided to rise early and get an easy six miles in before work. The temperature was a comfortable 50°F with very little wind – perfect for one of my trademark progressive runs.

I started with slightly stiff legs and a first mile of 7:52, but soon got into a rhythm and clocked 2nd and 3rd miles of 7:27 and 7:18. Halfway done and feeling good, I turned for home, recording a slightly faster 4th mile (7:16). Now just two miles from home I picked up the pace and realized how much I was enjoying the morning air. Mile 5 was a 7:12 and I was able to finish strong with a sub 7 minute mile (6:56).

Nice to get the run of the day out of the way early, and it has the added bonus of setting me up nicely for a busy day at work.
