Nice Easy Recovery Run

After yesterday’s confidence boosting 22 mile run, today was all about recovery. My legs actually feel pretty good, but with only 20 days to go until the Frederick Marathon, I’m going to be extra careful and not risk a silly injury.

Therefore, this afternoon I ran an easy six miles on the treadmill, nothing fast and nothing too hilly, although I did vary the incline slightly to break up the monotony of not following a structured workout. Not much else to say about today’s run, but I have been extra hungry today after the calorie burning 22 miler yesterday. I can’t seem to stop the food cravings at the moment, but have to be careful otherwise I’ll be lining up at Frederick carrying too many extra pounds.

On the subject of weight, amazingly I’m still 7 pounds lighter than I was at the beginning of the year and my body fat percentage is now a consistent 6.5% (down from over 10% on January 1st). I should really get back into a regular strength routine, but life is busy at the moment and as usual, strength/core work is the first thing to suffer.
