Post Marathon Easy Run

Legs felt surprisingly okay today considering how bad they felt in yesterday’s Frederick Marathon, so ignoring most of the traditional marathon recovery advice I’ve read, I went for an easy run.

It was nice to be out and about with the sun shining and the breeze blowing. I covered just over four miles and made it back to the house before a rain shower and some thunder started. The legs felt pretty good too to be honest which makes my marathon performance even more of a mystery.

I followed up the run with another round of the Hundred Push Ups plan.

I realized I hadn’t done the end-of-week 2 test, so that came first. I stopped at 24 to cheat the system and keep myself in Column 2 of Week 3 which I know from experience is the “easier” route to success. One of the perks of knowing the Hundred Push Ups plan so well I suppose?

I’m also enjoying following the program using the official 100 Push Ups iPhone App – it adds an extra dimension to the workouts, makes it a bit more fun and does its job as a logging tool very well. If you haven’t checked out the app, it’s currently on sale for a limited time at the Apple App Store. Not sure when the special 99 cents price is going to end, so make sure you snap it up soon.

Week 3 Day 1

As for the push ups workout, it wasn’t too challenging this time around. I managed the 12, 17, 13 and 13 with no problems at all, and knocked out a max of 30 at the end for good measure.

  1. 100 push-ups iPhone app?? This changes everything! I’m going to try again. We do lots of push-ups in my strength training class but I seem to be at a stand still with my numbers. I’ve got some weak ass arms I tell you!
    Love your blog!

  2. Outstanding job on all your endeavors these past few years.
