The comeback continues. Same workout as Tuesday but with an extra mile of running and an extra chunk of walking tagged on at the end. The weather was appalling on the drive home from work. In the pre-stress fracture days, the treadmill would have been a great option for a rainy/windy afternoon, but with strict instructions to stay off firm surfaces (treadmills included) the only option was to splash around the soccer fields again.
The left foot felt about the same as Tuesday, which is definitely a positive sign. I was a little concerned it would flare up in the third mile of running, but it didn’t, and if anything it felt a little better as the “workout” progressed. It will be nice to rest up tomorrow and maybe try something a little longer on the weekend if everything is doing good. See how I feel. By the way, when I say “something a little longer”, I’m talking of a 4 or 5 mile run – not exactly marathon training, but it’s a start!
Stats just for the record:
5 min walk, 1 mile run (7:34), 5 min walk, 1 mile run (7:17), 5 min walk, 1 mile run (7:09), walk back to car.
Oh come on, those kind of conditions are a blast to run in. More mud! Glad things are progressing along nicely.
